국부 요오드와 극심한 동상

베타딘 형태의 국부 요오드는 깊은 조직의 회복이 필요한 많은 상처들에 매우 잘 작용한다. 겨울 동안 키우던 염소가 발이 뒤엉켜서 눈 내리는 밖에서 2틀 동안 밖에서 꼼짝도 못했다. (나는 독감에 걸려 침대에서 일어나지도 못하고 있던 상황이었다.) 그의 발은 잘려져 있었으며 많이 부은데다가 꽁꽁 얼어있었다. 안으로 데려온 뒤 다친 발이 녹을 때까지 화장실 안에 두었고 당시에 어떻게 해야 할지 잘 몰라서 콜로이드 은을 마실 수 있도록 많이 제공해 주었고 밴드를 콜로이드 은에 담구었다가 그의 발을 감싸주었다. 2주를 기다렸지만 별다른 개선이 없었다. (그의 발의 살은 돌처럼 딱딱했고 어느 쪽으로도 움직이거나 꺾을 수 없었다. 또한 열이 났다.) 그래서 나는 요오드를 사용해서 그의 발을 요오드로 적신 거즈로 감싸준 뒤 강력 접착 테이프로 칭칭 감아서 부츠처럼 발을 보호는 동시에 요오드가 잘 흡수되도록 하였다. (친구의 조언이었다.)

1주뒤에 나는 밴드를 떼주었고 더 이상 발이 부어있지 않았다. 그의 발은 더 이상 딱딱하지 않았고 전에는 할 수 없었지만 이젠 그의 발을 움직이거나 꺾을 수도 있었다. 하지만 피부가 보기 좋지는 않았고 털과 피부가 떨어져 나가있었다. 나는 괴저가 걱정되었다. 나는 다시 요오드를 거주에 적혀 발을 감싸고 1주일을 두었다. 이번에 거즈를 풀었을 때는 오래된 피부와 털들은 제거가 되었고 새로운 털이 자라나는 새로운 피부가 자리잡고 있었다! 나는 다시 거즈로 감싼 뒤 1주일을 기다렸고 이 시점이 되자 털이 완전히 자라있었고 심각하게 3주전 손상을 입었었던 부위로 보이지 않았다. 4에서 5주가 지나자 새로운 굽이 자라나는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 완벽한 치유인 것이다. 매우 놀랍다!

Topical Iodine and Extreme Frostbite

Topical iodine in the form of Betadine works wonders on wounds that require tissue deep repair, during the winter of '10 my goat got his foot tangled and was stuck outside for two days in the snow like that ( I was in bed with the flu for a week and could barely breathe when I got out of bed) anyways, his foot had swelled from the circulation being cut off and then froze solid. We brought him in and kept him in the bathroom while his foot thawed, I was unsure what to do with him at the time and gave him lots of colloidal silver to drink and soaked a bandage in it and wrapped it on his foot, I waited two weeks and saw no real improvement (the flesh on his foot was solid as a rock and he could not flex it or move it in any way but it had heat) so I tried iodine, wrapped his foot in iodine soaked gauze and then wrapped it in duct tape (thanks to the advice of a friend) to form a boot to keep it protected and allow the iodine to absorb and not dissipate.

After ONE week I took the bandage off and the swelling was completely gone and his foot was no longer solid, I could move it and flex his hooves, something I could not in any way do before. The skin didn't look pretty though the layers of skin and fur were coming off in patches and I was worried about it being gangrene at first, but I wrapped it again and left it for another week. This time when I took it off nearly all the old skin and fur were off and new skin was in its place with new fur sprouting out! Again I wrapped it and left it for another week, at this point the fur was fully grown in and you couldn't tell it had been so severely damaged just 3 weeks earlier. At about 4 or 5 weeks I then noticed that he was growing a whole new hoof, complete healing, amazing!
